Girls Bowling Blogs
The Waukee Bowling program has established a strong presence in the Central Iowa Metro League (CIML). Both the girls’ and boys’ squads have experienced success since Girls Bowling was sanctioned in 2007 and Boys Bowling in 2009.
Over the past eight seasons the boys and girls teams have both qualified for the state tournament, and each team has placed as high as fifth. In addition, each program has had individual qualifiers to the state meet. In 2014, Jonah Starmer won the schools first individual state championship in bowling.
The goal of the Waukee bowling program is to provide an environment where students feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. The coaches’ in the program value all athletes and emphasize competing to their fullest potential. Competitive opportunities exist for all athletes grade 9-12 regardless of ability or prior bowling experience.
