Girls Golf

Few programs rival the recent successes of the Waukee Girls’ Golf team.  The Warriors captured the large school state championship in 2012, 2013 and 2014.  They were also the state runner up in 2010, placed third in 2011 and fourth place in 2015.  Waukee has also won conference and divisional dual meet titles, as well as, Central Iowa Conference and Regional titles every year since 2009.  During that same time period, Waukee Girls Golf teams received the IGHSAU Excellence in Academic Achievement Award each year.

Large participation numbers have helped contribute to the team’s success as more than 30 girls in grades 9-12, compete at the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels for the Warriors.  Led by Head Coach Marty Sullivan and assistant Allen Jones Waukee girls enjoy a fun yet competitive experience that stresses sportsmanship and fair play.

Sugar Creek Golf Course in Waukee is the home for Waukee Girls golf practices and dual meet schedule.  Along with a schedule of dual meets, the Warriors also compete in several of the top invitational tournaments in Central Iowa throughout the season.  Waukee hosts it’s own invite each year at Lake Panorama National Golf Course.

Girls Golf in Iowa is a spring sport. The season begins in mid March with competition starting the second week of April.  The season culminates with the State Tournament in early June.   Waukee golfers also have opportunities to work on their game in the winter utilizing the programs indoor facility and golf simulator.
Individual and team successes have allowed several Waukee athletes an opportunity to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
