Boys Track

The Waukee Boys Track team is consistently one of the top programs in Central Iowa and the state. The Warriors have won 8 consecutive District Championships and 6 Conference titles since 2006. On the state level, Waukee teams have eight “top 10” team finishes highlighted by a 3rd place finish in 2013 and State Championships in 2014 and 2015, as well as, State Team Pentathlon championships in 2006 and 2011.

Waukee’s successes at the state level have allowed many boys team members the opportunity to continue their athletic careers at the college level. Thirty-one former Waukee athletes have competed at the college level and four have gone on to coach high school track after college.

Head Coach Brent Heitland squads routinely number over 150 athletes so emphasis is placed on providing all athletes with a chance to participate. A complete varsity, junior varsity, sophomore and freshmen meet schedule allows all members of the team to compete against appropriate level talent.

Along with accomplishments and accolades on the track, the Waukee Boys track program is equally proud of their academic prowess. Waukee teams have received the IHSAA “Excellence in Academic Achievement” award for 10 consecutive years and 16 Waukee athletes have earned Academic All State honors.
