Waukee Girls Golf First, Boys Tennis Third at State

The Waukee High School (WHS) Girls Golf team captured the 2018 Class 4A State Championship at Elmwood Country in Marshalltown. The Warriors two-day total score of 680 was good enough to defeat runner-up West Des Moines Valley by 31 strokes. It was the school’s fourth state championship in program history, after winning titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

WHS was led by individual state champion Brooke Boardman. The junior shot a two day total of 151 and won the event by 11 strokes.  WHS was followed in scoring by Grace Gallagher who placed 10th individually. Depth contributed to the team’s success all season long and was key to the team’s victory at state. All six Waukee golfers placed in the top 25 in individual scoring.
